This week, we are beginning our character analysis studies  by examining characteristics of introversion and extroversion, and relating our knowledge to the leaders we are studying for National History Day. We watched Susan Cain's presentation, The Power of Introverts, at Ted.Com, and identified our own introvert and extrovert characteristics.

Also this week:
Wednesday 8/27 - MAZE Assessments - ASD reading assessments given to all students, Bring Self-Selected Reading Book, Begin Literacy Letter #1
Thursday & Friday 8/28 - McDougal Littell Pre-Course Assessments
Reading & Writing:  On Tuesday, students will visit the library during Social Studies to check out two books - one for NHD and one for self-selected reading. In class, students will learn to write Literacy Letters, which will be due weekly. Literacy letters are a comparative literature assignment, in which students will be asked to examine what we are reading in class and compare elements of what they are reading with a book they have selected to read independently.
