Growth Mindset

Having a Growth Mindset is essential when we want kids to reach their highest potential. Carol Dweck, an educational researcher, shows how the right kind of thinking and feedback can help our brains grow new pathways for learning throughout our life; we have to believe we can be learn, and be in an environment that provides challenge while teaching and supporting a Growth Mindset. Mathematical Mindsets, based on the research work of Jo Boaler at Stanford University, shows the power of teaching with Growth Mindset messages during maths instruction.

Having a Growth Mindset helps children understand that mistakes are part of learning, and that effort and willingness to work at learning is more a foundation for success than being "smart."
